I played poker; I think
OK, don’t gasp; you’ll look silly. There hasn’t been a lot of poker joy since the day that will live in infamy. I got linked to a CardPlayer article. They had a free play site. I figured, “What the hey.” and gave it a go. Mixed feelings. Not like the old days but not quite as bad as freerolls on other sites. Scant praise.
The good news is the site isn’t quite as bad as others. That relates to structure rather than opponents. They still are playing any hand and even hanging around when the betting says fold. Trying to play anything close to a standard game is -EV. Throw in it is NLH. I haven’t played much NLH — even when I could. I’m rusty and the needs are very non-standard.
I’ve played two tournaments there. It is one of those points setups. You can join at two levels for more points. But, I won’t go that route. I hate any kind of autopay setup. And, I am getting enough “play” with the free points. Every day you get 4100 points and it gets involved beyond that. If you tell them RJSquirel sent you I’d get 13K more.
Yesterday, I played a qualifier. In these kinds of situations, most of the ways to actually win something encompass qualifier. There was one qualifier for a free nice Samsung tablet. So, I played it. Didn’t think I made it but got a message I’d qualified somehow. It is an evening tournament and I think the last one of those I played was because Bam-bam shamed me into it.
I just played another and am back. It was as annoying as a freeroll gets. Oh, well.
The game table has ads under and to one side. Some flash. Some ads are from a recognizable business. There are others that show just how shabby the site is: I have possibly/already won $1000. Download a collection of cursors. (smiley faces actually) That kind of stuff went out with steam powered computers.
Well, I hadn’t come up with a post for a while. This will have to do.
