Behind the times-posts

Not much of a post but I thought I’d better say something to avoid the “Still alive?” queries.

I see Dave visited Yellowstone.  Fall isn’t the best time to visit there as winter sneaks up on the high country in this season.  As a child I visited Yellowstone with my Grandparents but found it a great vacation for a number of years — great trout fishing. But I always visited the park for its features too.  The first year as an adult was in September-early October and a down jacket was worn.  Leaving for home was with about 6″ of snow on the ground.  The locals told me it was the annual Fall Equinox storm.

While Dave toured and learned, Sparky dropped a buyin in East Peoria.  East Peoria is the wrong side of the tracks — well, river actually. Peoria isn’t the vacation capital that West Yellowstone is.

I was looking through a folder entitled Poker.  Been a while.  I realized there was a site I’d failed to remove from my drive. I clicked on it.

Not the best advice I ever got on the Internet. But, it isn’t the worst either.  That honor goes to the stock market — at least for the moment.

One of the nice things they have done is make the area just across the river in Peoria really nice with good restaurants and bars along the river. However, I usually just play poker and drive home. There is an interesting place next to the casino — the Burger Barge, which has unique hamburger selections.

Actually I went in August, but it was still chilly. Altitude varied throughout the park, but some places 7000+ feet. You had to wear layers — chilly early in the day, then warm later on.
